Post-Menopause Body Changes

Post-Menopause Body Changes

Give Me Back My Body

Ladies, gather ’round—let’s talk about the rollercoaster that is post-menopause. If you’re anything like me, you’ve noticed some unwelcome changes: a metabolism that seems to have hit the brakes, bones that aren’t quite as dense, and muscles that have taken early retirement. Fun times, right?

I hit menopause early, by 40, but managed to keep my weight steady. Then came my decision to run for elected office. Whether it was the campaign stress (which, surprise, can slow metabolism) or the well-meaning constituents who invited me in for treats at every door, the scale didn’t lie. I packed on 30 pounds in a year. Yes, you read that right—30 pounds. And let’s just say, it hasn’t done me any favors in the “youthful glow” department. My doctor gave it to me straight: “You’ve got six months to shed this weight for your health.” So, here I am, embarking on a journey to reclaim my body. Spoiler alert: I’m not a gym enthusiast. Don’t expect sleek workout gear or professional videography. What you’ll get is raw, unfiltered reality—sweat, struggles, and hopefully, success.

Join Me on This Journey. I’ll be documenting my progress, sharing the highs and lows, and maybe even a few laughs along the way. If I can inspire even one of you to take charge of your health, it’ll be worth it. So, grab your sneakers (or comfy slippers), and let’s do this together. Here’s to reclaiming our bodies and our confidence, one step at a time.
