The Cherry Blossom Trees are the Stars of Springtime.

Few people outside the Buffalo area realize that the city boasts its own breathtaking display of cherry blossoms, rivaling more famous locations. Many of these stunning trees can be found in Buffalo’s Japanese Garden, a serene oasis located at 1 Museum Court, behind the Buffalo History Museum.

Established in partnership with Buffalo’s sister city, Kanazawa, Japan, the garden is home to numerous cherry trees that burst into vibrant pink and white blooms each spring, creating a spectacular display around Mirror Lake.

Buffalo’s dedication to celebrating this natural beauty is showcased in the annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival, April 26-27. This beloved event features cultural performances, live music, and the popular “Pink Parade,” where participants don pink attire and stroll through the gardens in celebration of the season.

Experiencing Buffalo’s cherry blossoms is more than just a visual delight—it’s a connection to the city’s cultural heritage and strong sense of community, making it a must-see spring-time tradition.
