Senate bill 393 provides for priority for applications and expedited determination of claims for a human trafficking victim who wishes to remove permanent marks that were part of the trafficking of such victim, including but not limited to, tattoos, markings, branding, or other symbols or insignia.

Human trafficking is a global phenomenon that generates $150 billion in annual profits for the vile and wicked.

In 2021, an estimated 25 million people were trafficked-75 percent of those victims being women and children. Sadly, traffickers leave permanent scars upon victims and survivors, in the form of tattoos, markings, branding, or other symbols or insignia. Removal of these literal scars of captivity should be removed as expeditiously as possible.
