Father’s Day:

Dads, BBQs, and the Sweetest Sacrifices

Father’s Day, celebrated on June 15, 2025, is a chance to honor the men who have been our rocks, protectors, and occasional partners in crime. It all began in 1910, when Sonora Smart Dodd sought to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children alone. Since then, dads everywhere have been celebrated for their unwavering support—and their ability to fix anything with duct tape.

But let’s be honest: On their special day, dads often end up manning the grill, flipping burgers, and making sure everyone else has a plate. It’s as if Father’s Day is less about rest and more about showing off their grilling prowess. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.

So this year, give your dad more than a “#1 Dad” mug. Thank him for his jokes (even the bad ones), his wisdom, and the way he shows love—even if it’s by sneaking you the last hot dog. Because dads, with all their quirks, make life a whole lot better.
