cold case Jeanne M. Scrima of Knox, NYCold Case

44 year old Jeanne M. Scrima of Knox, NY, was reported missing by her attorney after failing to appear at divorce proceedings with her husband. The 5’3 118 pound woman was last seen at 7:00 a.m. on March 19, 1980 driving to her residence to meet her husband. She was wearing a gold heart-shaped cocktail ring with diamonds at the time. Although her car was found, she was not.

One of the last people to see Jeanne was her reported lover John Sidney. The two had taken a drive to Erie PA on March 17th, two days before she went missing. While staying at the Hilton the next morning she called her sister who informed her that Jeanne’s husband had realized she was having an affair with John. According to reports, that prompted Jeanne to return home the next day – the 19th (day she was last seen). She is believe to have arrived back at her home in the early afternoon but no one ever saw or heard from her again. Her husband never filed a missing person’s report on his wife. It wasn’t until months later when Jeanne’s lawyer contacted the police about his inability to contact her that she was known to be missing.

Jeanne’s boyfriend was cleared as a suspect. Her husband refused to speak with the police. If you know anything that can help police solve this case please say something to the authorities.
